Abstract

The article analyzes the history of attitudes towards people with disabilities in the countries of the East and West. A comparative analysis of the ancient and medieval eras is presented, the term "religious-mythological model" is introduced, since attitudes towards people with disabilities are formed after the emergence of religion. The study is based on information presented in scientific literature and identifies three stages in the history of attitudes towards people with disabilities. During the study, each model is analyzed separately, a comparative analysis of attitudes towards people with disabilities in the countries of the East and West from ancient times to the modern period is carried out and appropriate conclusions are made. In the article, in the process of considering the history of attitudes towards people with disabilities, based on the analysis of foreign and domestic literature, scientific and theoretical conclusions are made.
